This retreat proposes a creative process built step by step, starting from listening rather than from pressure or expectation. During the first days, we work with words, ideas, and questions to identify the creative seeds that each participant brings with them. From there, we explore how to translate those ideas into material form, understanding that not every search calls for the same language or the same technique.

The process combines reflection, experimentation, and making. We work with acrylic inks, aerosol, and mixed techniques to discover how an idea can be materialized, and only then do we move on to the final artwork. Beyond a finished piece, the goal of the retreat is for each artist to gain clarity about their own way of creating, confidence in their process, and tools to continue working once the retreat has ended

who is

AYELEN ARRIGO

Born in 1984 in San Martín, Mendoza, Argentina, she is an architect graduated from the University of Mendoza in 2010. Her practice integrates architecture and abstract art, focusing on composition, visual language, and mixed media as tools for artistic research and expansion.

Since 2013, she has developed artistic mentoring and educational projects aimed at the growth and expansion of artistic practice. She has participated in group and solo exhibitions in Mendoza since 2012 and currently has a work selected for the Salón de Vendimia. Since 2024, she has led online artistic mentoring programs, supporting more than 300 artists from 13 countries in the development and expansion of their work.

  • 5 days abstract painting tuition led by Ayelen Arrigo
  • Group work, community time, and one-to-one discussions

  • Excursions: Visits in the area as mentioned in the programme
  • Local transfers: All necessary transfers are included for excursions and programme-related visits during the retreat.

  • All painting materials will be provided during the art retreat to ensure a studio experience: canvases, acrylic paints, markers, and tools. The materials cost is €200, payable directly to the artist.
