Intuitive Painting & Drawing

This 5-day immersive retreat is an invitation to slow down and reconnect with your creative core.

Rather than focusing on technique or creating finished works, we will explore painting and drawing as a lived, embodied process. The workshop centers on intuition, presence, and courage — working from the body, the senses, and inner impulse rather than from control or expectation.

Through a series of guided exercises, individual work, and reflection, participants are encouraged to let go of habits, performance, and self-judgment. There is no right or wrong, no result to achieve. The focus is on listening, responding, and allowing the work to emerge over time.

Participants will have their own unprimed cotton canvas to work on throughout the week. This raw surface allows for direct, honest engagement with the materials, letting each mark, gesture, and movement remain visible — a space to fully explore presence and intuition in your work. It is the same canvas that Kristin works on.

You’ ll work with acrylics on simple, affordable, and accessible materials such as paper, cardboard, natural elements, and found objects. By reducing material hierarchy, attention shifts from outcome to experience, from perfection to authenticity. You are of course welcome to bring your own canvas, brushes and other things you want to work with. Kristin will have the basic needs.

The workshop is suitable for artists and creatives at all stages who wish to deepen their process, reconnect with intuition, and experience art as an honest and meaningful practice. No previous experience is required.

What matters is curiosity, openness, and a willingness to let go.

who is

Kristin Romberg

Kristin Romberg – Art as Connection and Belonging

Since 2001, she’s creating large-format paintings, drawing

inspiration from her extensive travels and residencies around the globe. Her work often transcends the traditional canvas, inviting viewers into a tactile, layered experience that echoes the complexities of nature. Whether suspended from thin cords or layered on walls, her paintings are a reflection of her connection to the places she’s explored and the inner force that drives her creative process.

As an artist, she explores the delicate balance between humans and nature, with a focus on the fate of insects—a critical but often overlooked environmental issue. Working with acrylic on untreated canvas, she uses vibrant colors and dynamic compositions to evoke a deeper understanding of our natural world. Her art is both a tribute to nature’s beauty and a call to action, encouraging mindfulness in how we interact with the environment.
